“Mike died today at 6.30 on the Monaro Highway out of Canberra racing the Indian Pacific Wheel Race doing what he used to call “his thing“.
His thing was riding bikes.
It was riding bikes in a way that nobody was able to.
His thing was to inspire people from all over the world through this.
His thing was “to make something unique and culturally significant in the hearts and minds of cyclists, an expression of all virtues of cycling and of adventure and of sport.”
His thing was to grow a community of people and cyclists around this idea.
His thing was a burning fire
and it was doing all of this on his bike.
Thank you Mike”
